Day 5: Your Body

Day 5: Your Body

It’s important to understand that your body, your soul and your spirit all contain the Spirit of God. He gets to inhabit the whole of you! It’s also important to realize how intrinsically each part is linked and connected to the others. Therefore, it is impossible to do something with your body that doesn’t touch and have an effect on your soul and spirit.

When it comes to living a VIBRANT life, which Ephesians 1:4 tells us we have been called to, we must understand this includes our whole being. Your body is valuable to God because it houses Him and therefore the way you care for and protect it matters to God. He views your body as a place of holiness.

I have small children around the house. At least a few times a week you will hear me say, “I am the boss of you!” I say it jokingly, of course, but it gets the message across. It basically says, “I’m in charge, in case you are wondering!” This is basically what Paul is saying to himself and then he is explaining his internal narrative in order to bene t us. It sounds like, “Body, I tell you what you can and cannot do. You are not in charge. I am the boss of you.”
