Day 7: The Seed

Day 7: The Seed

It’s amazing to look at nature and see what grows from a seed. Look at an oak tree; it comes from a tiny acorn! A seed is tiny, but once it is planted in good soil it has the potential to become something much larger.

In my relationship with God, I’m on a continual journey of learning to know the difference between what He holds me responsible for and what He’s taking care of. As I pay attention to this, I find my life is manageable and do-able, knowing He’s not expecting me to do what only He can do. Over the years I have learned that when I’m feeling overwhelmed it’s usually because I have got the boundaries confused and I am trying to do God’s part for Him! Do you do the same thing? Our spiritual life is a relationship. They say it ‘takes two’ to make a relationship work and ‘they’ are right! Each person in the relationship has a responsibility to that relationship to make it successful, but we are not called to do everything. To live that way would be unwise, unhealthy and would make us unhappy.

In our relationship with God, He holds our lives in His hands and cares for us deeply, but we have responsibilities within our lives. Building a vibrant life requires under- standing what’s yours and stewarding and caring for it with all your heart.
