Day 12: Roadside Soil

Day 12: Roadside Soil

Our hearts are meant to be rich fields the Lord can plant in, but with the busyness and ‘instant response’ age we live in, sometimes they are more like a well driven path. The soil becomes packed down and hard because all the information coming at us. We read the Bible in the morning (or whenever we do) and a verse might stay a short while in our thoughts. We understand it. We believe it, but before long we have forgotten what we heard. The soil of our heart is so hard, by continual traffic, there is no hope for the seed to go deep and grow. And when the seed stays on the surface of our hearts it’s easier for Satan to take it from us. He is constantly passing over your heart with is lusts, lies and pride, hoping to devour the Word quickly!
