Day 14: Thorny Soil

Day 14: Thorny Soil

Today we look at the Thorny soil! This soil, after it’s been plowed and ready to receive seed, wasn’t weeded enough. It wasn’t prepared thoroughly. The roots of the weeds were not cleared completely and they were hidden under the soil. This soil is like a person who God asked to get rid of things in their life. They began the process and outwardly resembled holiness but, deep down inside, their root system was not cleared out. The weeds could still grow!

Sometimes we believe things are not dangerous to our growth, but if God asks you to get rid of it, it’s important that we obey. He is the only one that knows what can jeopardize our growth in Him. He is the only one who can see into the future. If God is asking you to rid yourself of things, obey! Don’t delay! Obey with a happy heart! His intentions toward you are perfect and He would never ask you to get rid of something unless He has a full purpose in it.
