Day 21: Sowing Hope

Day 21: Sowing Hope

In the dictionary we find a simple meaning for the word hope: “To FEEL that something desired MAY happen.” The words “feel” and “may” are two very indefinite and vague words. The dictionary definition of the word “hope” is NOT the Biblical hope we are talking about. Hope in this verse is the Hebrew word, “yachal” meaning “trust.” How do we build Biblical hope? We choose to trust. We use our free will to agree with what the Spirit is saying. The Holy Spirit is always declaring, “You can trust God. He’s worthy of trust. He does not lie. Only truth is in Him. Put your TRUST in Him.” Our ability to choose trust, builds hope. When we lack hope, we lack trust. Hopelessness is a clear sign that we have insufficient trust.
